untitled

She wants to live…
in earnest she grieves
the blood on her wounds,
gleaming. she floats
under the starry skies,
moon shadows revealing.
enshrouded by light
she is given away,
the rope on her neck,
forgiving. once upon a time
there was a knight
rowed up to her side,
serenading. she gave him
her heart, wrapped in a basket,
still beating. today, it floats
down a river, love streaming.
he tied the string to his hand,
the puppet she is, still dreaming.
one day she will become a girl
with a life all her own.
