visions and dreams

with fear and trembling
destiny’s road shrinks
with courage
her horizon ahead grows

A new year, a new theme, every Sunday in 2017. I pose this challenge to myself, to explore change and the fear that accompanies the unknown.

ponder new beginnings,
finding ways of being,
seeking peace of mind.
i could sit and sulk,
play the reel of tape
over and over
rejecting and rejection,
stepping stones to growth.

Consider Joan of Arc. A heroine against the wind of thought. She challenged lies with truth and doubt by faith.

Every man gives his life for what he believes. Every woman gives her life for what she believes. Sometimes people believe in little or nothing, and so they give their lives to little or nothing. One life is all we have, and we live it as we believe in living it…and then it’s gone. But to surrender who you are and to live without belief is more terrible than dying – even more terrible than dying young.  –Joan of Arc

Seeking others magnifies love, our love breaches doubt.
